Women in Technical Theatre Roadshow
The Women in Technical Theatre Roadshow aims to engage female pupils from secondary level schools throughout Ireland by presenting and facilitating workshops geared towards increasing awareness of technical theatre, stage management and the importance that these departments play in the professional creation of live performance.
The workshops will be designed and facilitated by industry professionals who lead technical departments at The Lir Academy and who forge the way for women to pursue careers in areas of technical production. They will use existing stage and equipment to create a ‘mini-tech’ as the basis for a hands-on experience or working in theatre. The performance aspect of the work is led by an Abbey facilitator experienced with working with young people.
Max 30 students per workshop. Workshops are 2hours in length. 10-12pm and 1-3pm. Free but booking required.
