HADESTOWN
We are thrilled to announce that dlr Mill Theatre will stage Hadestown Teen Edition, running from Wednesday 26th to Saturday 29th August 2026. This marks a wonderful milestone and an exciting moment for our theatre, as we bring this beloved musical to life with a talented cast of young performers.
About the Show
Hadestown Teen Edition reimagines the classic Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone, weaving them into a hauntingly beautiful modern folk-opera. Set in a world divided between the warmth of spring and the gloom of the industrial underworld, the story follows Orpheus, a gifted young musician, on his quest to rescue the love of his life, Eurydice, from the depths of Hadestown.
Rich with soulful melodies, toe-tapping rhythms, and deeply moving themes of love, hope, and resilience, this version retains all the magic and heart of the original award-winning production while being specially adapted for young performers. It is a story that speaks to all ages, reminding us that even in the darkest times, music and hope can light the way.
