Parenting the Screenager - with Dr Richard Hogan
Today’s teenagers are growing up in a digital world that is moving faster than any generation before them – and for parents, it can feel overwhelming. From social media and gaming to anxiety, sleep deprivation, and online pressures, the challenges facing modern families are complex and constantly evolving.
Parenting the Screenager is an energetic, lighthearted, and highly practical live show designed to give parents real tools they can use immediately. Dr Richard Hogan is one of Ireland’s leading psychotherapists, star of RTÉ’s Raised By The Village, Virgin Media Television’s Dinner With The Enemy and a regular contributor to national radio. In this live show, Richard offers clear, accessible guidance on how to strengthen communication, set healthy boundaries, and better understand teenage behaviour in a screen-dominated world.
Drawing on years of clinical and classroom experience, Richard explores the real issues parents are facing today, including social media, bullying, body image, online pornography, exams, and teenage anxiety. Using relatable case studies and straightforward strategies, he shows parents how to reduce conflict, rebuild connection, and create healthier family dynamics.
This is not a lecture – it’s an essential, reassuring, and empowering evening for any parent who wants to feel more confident navigating adolescence in the modern age.
