🔸 Friday, 31st October  at the Dundrum Festival – A Night of Powerful Drama and Fresh Perspectives

Join us for an unforgettable evening of new Irish writing and dynamic performances, as three compelling plays take the stage — each bringing a different lens on human connection, moral complexity, and emotional truth.

🎭 Safe Passage by Irene Kelleher

Presented by Coachford Players, Co. Cork                                                                                                                                                        From the windswept cliffs of Inish Dubh Lighthouse, two strangers seek shelter — and perhaps, understanding. Christy, the keeper, is puzzled by the arrival of a young woman. Who is she? What does she want from him? As the storm rises and the lighthouse door slams shut, the answers begin to surface in this atmospheric and haunting piece by acclaimed playwright Irene Kelleher.

🎭 Contradictions by Neil Haran

Performed by Corofin Dramatic Society                                                                                                                                                           Inside a maximum-security prison, a hardened drug baron faces off with an ambitious reporter in what’s meant to be a no-holds-barred interview. But when the journalist’s own secrets are revealed — including ties to the very cartel he aims to expose — the power dynamic shifts in shocking ways. A gritty and intense drama that challenges our perceptions of truth, loyalty, and justice.

🎭 50/50 by Jamesine Cundell Walker

Performed by Trim Drama Group | Directed by Elaine McLoughlin                                                                                                          We welcome back Trim Drama Group to the festival after some years absences.  In a refreshing change of tone, this modern and witty three-hander explores love, uncertainty, and the bonds that hold us together. Jo stares down a pregnancy test while her partner Danni offers support and reflection. Through laughter, vulnerability, and heart, we’re taken on a journey through their relationship — from their first meeting to this pivotal moment. A beautifully honest play about choice, connection, and courage.

🎟️ Don’t miss this rich and diverse night of theatre! Whether you’re drawn to the windswept loneliness of a lighthouse, the intensity of a prison showdown, or the intimacy of a couple’s quiet reckoning, Friday night at the Dundrum Festival has something unforgettable

🔸 Final Night at the Dundrum Festival, Saturday, November 1st at 7:30 PM

Join us for an unforgettable closing night featuring a diverse trio of performances from some of Ireland’s finest theatre groups.

🎭 Hue and Cry by Deirdre Kinnahan

Performed by The Moat Club, Naas                                                                                                                                                                        One of Ireland’s premier theatre groups presents the play where Deirdre Kinnahan truly found her voice. The setup is traditional — the night before a funeral, two cousins meet at a family gathering. But a tense dilemma arises: Damian, the son of the deceased, is not welcome. Kevin, his cousin and a delicate dance choreographer, is sent into the small sitting room to ask him to leave. A powerful exploration of family, grief, and unspoken tensions.

🎭 Gum and Goo by Howard Brenton

Performed by Gorey Little Theatre                                                                                                                                                                           An experimental piece from acclaimed playwright Howard Brenton. This short play explores the inner world of Michelle, a young girl with autism, and the two boys who manifest as “Gum” and “Goo” in her imagination. A moving and inventive work that challenges perception and embraces empathy.

🎭 Nancy Friday by Mark Yeates

Performed by Beehive, Lucan                                                                                                                                                                          Described as more of a psychological drama than a dark comedy, this intense piece delves into the darker corners of the mind. With sharp dialogue and emotional depth, Nancy Friday contains strong language and is sure to provoke thought and conversation.
