Used Walls- Lenore Collins
Lenore Collins has been interested in the decay of walls for a long time. She has been photographing them at home and on her travels for years. Specifically, she is interested in peeling layers of posters, weather and decay of old walls and graffiti.
Over the last year she started a series of paintings to capture the feel of these walls. They are so beautiful in their own right that it just inspired her to express it in her art. Since she is an abstract artist specialising in mixed media this theme really resonated with her. It also brings out her graphic designer sensibilities so all bases are covered artistically for her!
This show will incorporate large and small paintings and photographs.
Lenore Collins is an American graphic designer, painter and photographer living in Ireland for the last 25 years. She graduated from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) in the US in 1985 with a bachelors degree in Graphic Design.
Colour and its various relationships are her main focus and she started out as a realist painter but now concentrates on abstract painting. It gives her a certain satisfaction in that it melds her graphic design and painter sensibilities while challenging her in every piece.
She has had solo shows, been in many group shows and has had 4 solo shows. Her paintings hang in many homes in the area, offices in town and in the US. Lenore received a commission from the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Co. Council to do a painting and 22 art prints of it for the Tidy Towns Awards. She is a member of VAI (Visual Artists Ireland), The Dublin Painting and Sketching Club, ArtNetdlr and The Dublin Art Society.
